Job advertising on the internet grew further in February to stand more than 10 per cent higher over the past year, led by demand for workers in Victoria and the ACT in the month.

The Department of Jobs and Small Business said job adverts rose 0.6 per cent in February, following a 0.8 per cent increase in January, to mark the 16th consecutive monthly increase in trend terms.

Job ads rose by 0.8 per cent in both Victoria and the ACT, followed by NSW and Western Australia which increased by 0.6 per cent. Queensland ads were flat, while South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory all recorded small falls.
