Aged care will be covered by a single set of new standards in a bid to make it easier for consumers, families, and carers to understand what they can expect from a service.
The Aged Care Quality Standards will apply to all aged care services including residential care, home care, flexible care and services under the Commonwealth Home Support Program.
Legislation to establish the new framework, which will replaces four existing standards from July next year, cleared parliament on Monday night.
